We have been to this restaurant a couple of times in the past and enjoyed the food. However our recent experience was a little less than average. Perhaps the usual chef was having a night off? We knew the menu was limited but we felt there were enough choices (although limited for vegetarians) to cater for the group we went with. Unfortunately the evening went from bad to worse when the waitress flew between our table and others without ever seeming to complete the task at hand. The restaurant was not busy and one other waitress didn't seem to be doing anything. We were bitterly disappointed when told they had run out of fish which meant the limited menu was even more limited. It was a bit like Faulty Towers when the waitress spilt our wine on our table and rather than apologise or clean up her mess she left us to serve another table. As our glasses were dripping wine and the table was covered in red wine we had to ask her to return to clean up. The meals were very small and everything that had been fried had not been drained so greasy food and soggy chips. The only vegetarian dish - risotto appeared to have had the salt shaker spilt into it as it was inedible due to the high salt content. The only highlight of the evening was the dessert which were extremely good and lived up to our previous standards. In summary the waitress needed customer service training and perhaps check if the chef has changed or is on holiday as you may be as disappointed as we were with our meals.
