I honestly do not understand the rating. I've tried a bunch of the popular Indian joints in Brisbane and this place is up there with the best of them. The goat curry and sagwala are particularly good. We used to go to Curryville in Morningside until we discovered this place, which is just as good but cheaper. Seriously, give it a go.
Should have paid more attention to the overall rating, not the last couple reviews for Himalaya Sagar. I ordered the Vegetable Samosa, Tandoori Chicken Tikka and Plain Naan for delivery via UberEATS. The highlight of the meal was discovering that they had included an extra Vegetable Samosa in the order. They were dense little samosas with decent flavour. On its own it would rate a 3, but two for $4.95 gets a bump up to 3.5. Unfortunately, the naan was dry, burned in places and smeared with char. It was unpleasant on its own and dragged the chicken down as I intended them to be served together. The naan was pretty pathetic and rated a 1.5. It was edible, but in no way enjoyable. Nobody likes the acrid taste of char. The Tandoori Chicken Tikka ($12.95) was below average on its own (2.5), but combined with the naan was not very nice (2). Not a tremendous amount of chicken for $13. I regret not trying the curries, but if I had been served naan like this with a good curry I would have been furious...probably for the best that I limited the damage.
