The atmosphere was beautiful. The violinist was a lovely touch. The pasta was the best I have had in years. Service lovely. I can not fault this place. Definitely go for a date!

Had lunch here a couple of weeks ago - nice friendly service and a lovely spot to sit and enjoy the world go by. The GNOCCHI CON ZUCCA E BURRO BRUCIATO was fantastic - gnocchi just like you get in Italy. Oxford Street can be hit and miss but this place didn't fail to deliver.

Went here for breakfast. Good coffee, quick service, and it wasn't too busy. Eggs benedict was pretty good, not much hollandaise sauce and was a bit oily though.

Been here a few times now. Coffee is generallly quite good. Food has been good everytime. Waiters are nice and greet you with a smile. Plenty of room for small or large groups. We easily sat 10 people.

Terrible service.  We ordered one half strength latte coffee - we received a full strength coffee. We ordered 2 lemon lime & bitters & they only gave us one. My daughter bought a steak sandwich which was good but was the first thing that came out.  A bit bizzare.  I ordered a turkey & cranberry sandwich & instead of FOUR small triangles of bread, I only got TWO!!!  Did they only use ONE piece of bread???  The meals did not come out at the same time.   My Mum had finished her coffee before the "meal"  The Shingle Inn UPSTAIRS is much more organised & they have FOUR small triangles for their sandwiches. To top it off, as it was a public holiday, the small meal we had also had a surcharge so we spent around $46. Will never go there again.  If I go to the Shingle in at Garden City, it will only be the upstairs one.  The service was disgusting downstairs.

Interesting little place - I've been in the area a number of times but only noticed this little place yesterday - then while searching online for something else Brisbane related this place popped up again. Checking the menu online, they do Reuben's, so I took it as a sign! The Reuben is quite nicely made, missing just a little bit something but would definitely return. The iced coffee was perfect. Great little place if your ever in the area.

honestly, it's a fast food restaurant so you sometimes get a hit and other times its a miss. They have a high turnover of staff and the quality is only as good as the staff attitude
