After a relaxing lunch at Crazy Panda, Meatballs And Beef Cheeks and I make a bee-line for Banneton Bakery. The floor space is small but every inch of this beautifully designed Bakery is put to good use. After chatting to the ladies we walk out with a Pain Au Chocolate, Choc Almond Croissant and Apple Galette. I warm the pastries in the oven for supper. They certainly taste better warm. The Apple Galette with a scoop of ice cream is yummy. But the crunchy Choc Almond Croissant served with a hot Chinese tea wins the day. I am impressed by this relatively new Bakery. The spotless floors, polished glass cabinets, the beautifully presented products for sale and the efficient helpful ladies behind the counter. Well done Banneton Bakery!

Popped into Banneton for a treat following lunch with Joe K at Crazy Panda Dumpling Bar. I like the layout of this shop and the open-air feel more than I do the Woolloongabba location. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming. Grabbed a Pain Au Chocolate, which I brought home to share with Lady Meatball and Mini Meatball. This was above average and rated a 3.5. I also wanted to pick up some bread, but their selection was extremely depleted by 1:30 on a Friday.

With a new chef the club has had a real boost in diners at the restaurant! But their meal costs are over the fence for what you get! Two of our group had the barramundi for a whopping $34.00 with the fish about 100-150 grams sitting on a huge dump of mashed potato and broccoli broccoli wherevefr you looked! My friend and I chose the excellent chicken parmigiana with a threesome of broccoli (heaps of it!) some squash and zucchini and some pretty dry and tasteless potato chips.The combination of these three veges that do not appeal to everybody kind of spoilt the meals! If, like me, you hate broccoli then your serving shrinks considerably when you take it away .....:. the chef must own a broccoli farm I'm sure ...... But the place remains popular nonetheless though we won't be returning due the murderous prices for average food quality and very small servings with acres of that wretched broccoli!

My husband and I celebrated our 100th month anniversary on the weekend and boy oh boy.... how have we not heard of this place before??? We had a fantastic experience from booking to walking out of their doors. The night started off with the Quail for entré my husband had the market fish (Barramundi) and I couldn't go past the Duck confit. The flavours were beautifully balanced with good portion sizes. Furthermore, the service was attentive and surprisingly very quick! If you're a Brisbanite and haven't been here... do yourself a favour and check it out!! ????????

Drinks were okay but staff not very attentive. My girlfriend and I had waited 40 minutes for breakfast before I decided I would go and ask how much longer should we expect to wait only to find out our order hadn't been placed despite it being paid for. Now I understand that I went up to the counter and ordered/paid at the same time in a table service cafe, however that doesn't excuse the staff for not even approaching our table and asking if we were waiting on anything else, despite delivering our drinks AND serving the table next to us. It's also not a good look for the staff to be standing around talking about "how it hasn't been busy today" when there's no more than 5 tables and they have only half-finished serving one of them. Drinks were okay, food I can't even comment on and service was below poor. Won't be back, definitely won't be recommending to anyone.
