Purchased a cake which did not seem to be fresh. Was not cheap and not that great either. Not sure I would purchase from here again.

We drove over to buy a gluten free birthday cake and to have a coffee and cake. To my coeliac partner's choice, there were a few options for the birthday cake (you can order online for a wide range of choices) as well a 3 or 4 trays of choices to have with coffee. Not the most ambient of places as it's in a shopping centre, but comfy seats and lovely staff. There's also a reward card for coffee as well as cake.

Great little Chinese restaurant. If you dine in the service is friendly and they know how to have a laugh. Takeaway is also good, if you have special request they are very accommodating.

Saturday night really busy but very happily accommodated us even without a booking- the place is full and first seating busy!You can see the action from the open plan kitchen and you can hear the buzz and Thai interactions from the people working in the kitchen. There are 4 girls and the owner working on the floor and doing their best but you need to be patient. Quick enough to get you settled and get the order within 5mins but took longer to get the food on the table about 15-20 I guess. It is a BYO restaurant.Staff while friendly and cheerful may need to be more proactive and seeking to check if people need something. A bit more training perhaps? Food came out and all's forgotten! So good as before - no complaints - food is great! Crispy Pork belly/eggplant; salt/pepper squid; stir fried rice flat noodles with chicken and rice - servings are substantial and more than enough for 3pax - Allow $20pp with desert.

We decided to try this place as it's local for us and we had heard some good things. We queued up at the door (with a few other couples in front of us) and were surprised to get a table inside within 5 minutes. The place was packed. Lots of children and families go here quite evidently. We were promptly given menus. Our waitress/waiters were attentive and friendly.From here, this is where the experience decline slightly. I ordered a chilled chai, which I can soundly say I will never have again - watery and tasteless. My husband had a chocolate milkshake which was delicious and creamy - so he was happy with that.! Meals were OK but not great, my husband having the Angus beef burger which was actually very tasty but my salad lacked seasoning and was over drenched with dressing. The total came to $50 which for 2 drinks and 2 meals is pretty reasonable I think but I wasn't thrilled with both of my orders. I would hope I made poor choices

I've already written a review about makimoto and I enjoyed it. Enough to go back for a family dinner on Monday 24th July. Completely empty which is nice but they ran out of tuna and soft shell crab. I'm sitting here thinking idk what else I want, they ended up replacing it all with salmon so we had a very fishy dinner. Left feeling sick. The green tea latte this time not fixed yet it was even less mixed then before. They retouched their menu which was soo happy to see. Food:Sushi for 2 was pretty good but for it's price I wanted to smash my head against a wall. Especially because there wasn't much variety due to the lack of fish in stock. If it weren't for my family I would've just left. The first 2 Californian rolls were cold! Omg I was soo excited bragging how the sushi was so fresh that it was warm. How embarrassing to get a plate full of cold sushi. I would've said something to the manager on duty but she never asked how the food was so there is a lack in the customer service area. Off to a bad start but it got better. The sushi came in warm and water was nice to have on the table. The manager ended up taking over the waitress and was very friendly among us. The megarolls were fun to eat trying to fit the entire thing in my mouth. So it was a bad start but an okay finish. Makimoto needs to revise their steps of service and I shouldn't have to pay for cold sushi. 4 stars to 3 stars. Good service recovery. Non existent introduction, average clearing of table. Can you bring back that male waiter he was very attentive last time.
