My family and I were on vacation, lived in the adjacent Penny Royal Inn. We visited the Kings Bridge 3 times during our short stay. First we got ready for breakfast. The eggs of my wife Benedict was delicious. I had a crab and Brie Omelette (a daily special), and it was charged with crab meat and delicious brie. The next day we ended there for dinner. It was a Friday night, and the place has been fully booked. They had a table for 2 free and were more than for our party of 2.5 (the 0.5 is our 2-year-old son). The staff was prompt, friendly, and liked to bring empty paper and crayon to occupy our son. My steak was cooked perfectly, although he could have been spiced a bit better. The pork belly of my wife was outstanding, with crisp cracking, and the fat was perfectly aligned. This night, live music was in half the pub (which was fine with me, and best for our 2-year-olds), so we get after a pint after dinner. Surprisingly, for a hotel pub it seemed to give a few locals, which is usually a sign of a good pub. On the last day in Launceston we ended there for lunch, which is not disappointed again. The drawn brisket was smoky, and the Caesar salad was fantastic. If you are in Launceston, you want a high-quality pub meal, with friendly service and a good beer to wash it off, and then board it with a meal and a drink.
