We tried for a table for 2 at the Golden Lane (Sunnybank Plaza) tonight but were turned away so we tried our luck at Cafe Mi 30 metres away. It was packed out too! Undeterred, we drove across the road to Sunny Park but were put off by the long long queue outside the Glamorous Wok. Wow! Sunday night at Sunnybank was really bustling with diners. Weak from hunger we stumbled back to the car and were soon at Market Square. Bingo! My luck returned, I got a carpark straight away and the Lucky Inn in front of us was only half full. I ordered a pot of jasmine tea as we were seated. Sipping the hot fragrant tea I could feel my mojo returning and I happily proceeded to order our dinner. The waitress was inexperienced but keen to please so I was patient and kept smiling. By the time our salt & pepper tofu and deep fried quails were served the restaurant was full of diners. Next came 2 large bowls of hot wonton soup and a plate of stir fried flat rice noodles with beef tossed over a super hot wok, a HK specialty. Yummy! Girlfriend and I finished everything including the pot of tea. Lucky Inn is a simple clean Cantonese style family restaurant that serves good food at a reasonable price. Their "specials" are photocopies of photos plastered on the wall. Wait staff are obliging and polite. Worth a try!
